Two Special Gifts.

These are two gifts that I received for Christmas.  One I will look at everyday and my heart will smile.  The other I will hang on our Christmas tree every year and enjoy it's beauty.

My son gave me this pretty plaque.  When I'm having an off moment things like this really lift my spirits.

This is my newest ornament.  I had never seen these before.  It's about 3" long and hangs on a green ribbon.

I would have never suspected you could do this with a leaf.  It's really neat.

A Happy Ending.

I've been extra busy the past two days and I do apologize if I haven't visited your blog yet.

On Christmas day we found a puppy dog on the side of the road.  We don't ever pass up puppy dogs that look like they're possible alone or lost.  This doggy ran straight to my son.  He had no collar, so no i.d. tags.  We were on our way to visit more family, so we had to take him back to our house and leave him there.  That's easier said than done since we already have three doggies.  We had to let our dogs outside so that we could get the lost dog set up in our master bathroom.  When we let our dogs back in the house they were sniffing and whining!  They really wanted to meet the little guy!  The little guy slept with my son for two nights.  We made signs and posted them.

Today I got a phone call from a lady that described the little lost guy perfectly!  Little guy was going home!  I found out his name is Taz and his family had gone out of town for Christmas.  Taz had been left with grandma and got away from her while on a walk Christmas morning.

Taz was picked up today to go back home.  I met his mom and she's a very grateful and nice lady.  She's keeping my number for future dog sitting. :)  I love happy endings!

Isn't he a little sweetheart!

All comfy in my son's bed.

And for good reason, he slept on a tempur-pedic pillow and mattress.
We will miss little Taz.

Christmas Eve

It's Christmas Eve and I hope everyone is having a beautiful holiday.  Today we will be baking, wrapping and bathing my puppy dogs.  Every Christmas Eve we make hot chocolate (maybe chocolate milk this year since it's 80 degrees) and go look at Christmas lights while listening to Christmas music.  My son is extra excited this year because for the first time ever he will be driving us for this tradition.  Things certainly are changing...too fast for me.  Merry Christmas Eve!

He Is The Reason.

A time to reflect on Christ
The gift God gave to all the world
Was the gift of His life

We know Christmas is not about tinsel
Nor fancy Christmas wreaths
Nor is it about all the decorations
That adorns our Christmas trees
And it’s not about Holly or Mistletoe
Hanging from our doors
Nor is it about the gifts that are left
By the jolly Santa Claus

Christmas is more than all of this
And the only reason why
We celebrate Christ’s birth together
And the wonder of His life

So remember as you celebrate
Just what it’s all about
And invite the Lord to join with you
Instead of leaving Him out

For He will always be the reason
We celebrate this day
No substitute the world may offer
Can take that meaning away

Beautiful Surprise While Christmas Shopping.

While Christmas shopping with a friend yesterday I spotted these beauties.  Good thing I had remembered my handy Nikon Coolpix.  The officers weren't around so I didn't get as close as I wanted.
I didn't find everything I was looking for, so that means I'll be back out in the crowds again soon. Wish me luck...LOL!

I think horses are so pretty.  I wanted to walk up and visit with them, but out of respect I thought it would be best not to.
It's nice to see police officers still ride horses around the city.

Such beauty...

I wonder what they think about.

I just wanted to hug that handsome face.

They're still saddled up.  I think the officers may be having some lunch close by.

A Few Christmas Favorites of Mine.

I have a few favorites that make me say "awww" every Christmas.  I'm sure none of you will be surprised that most of these items relate to my son. :)
Kyle made this for me when he was four years old.

Kyle made this for me when he was five.

One of many favorite pics.

Awwww...

I've always liked my reindeer card holder, but this year I love it!
If you look to the top you'll see MadSnapper's puppy dogs, Jake and Baby.
I get to see their cute faces everyday and I love it!

Behind This Door Is A Boy, A Box And Three Dogs.

Behind this door is a boy that loves to play with his doggies.  And loves to start trouble. LOL  This was part of the fun while decorating.

This is our front door.  My Great-Aunt Sally made this wreath for me, it's my favorite!

Looks so innocent...

Not so much...

Kyle loves to play with his doggies and get them excited and that usually means starting trouble. LOL!

Rambo is a little jealous!

Roxanne is a little jealous!

Rocket is a "Happy Camper"and doesn't understand what all the fuss is over. LOL

In the end everything worked out beautifully.  Happy Holidays!

It's Starting To Look Like Christmas

It's finally starting to look like Christmas, but not necessarily feeling like Christmas.  I haven't had one fire in my fireplace.  We did have one fire in the firepit in the backyard.  It's not the same though.
People around town are getting in the spirit and we've been enjoying beautiful music and lights.

This is one of my favorites.

Took this pic from the car and that car was moving, so it's a little blurry.

I've always liked snowmen.  :)

One year ago today, December 10, 2010, hubby and I tied the knot.  We

Ornaments and Memories

Just about every year we get a new ornament to add to our tree.  And usually there's a sentimental reason for the chosen ornament.
This first ornament was from Christmas 1996, my son's first Christmas.  We bought this ornament because I had rescued and raised squirrels.

Besides the acorn lighting up it plays "Rock-A-Bye Baby".

You can't tell by the pic, but the flame is flickering.

The Grinch

I saw this Grinch on a corner advertising Christmas trees.  It was funny because I was taking pics from the car and there was some guy talking to the Grinch and taking pics of him also.  He was probably from a  local paper.  Anyway, I find this Grinch even more scary than the Grinch in the movie.  What do you think about him?

Rocket"s Birthday Bash was Pawtastic!

Rocket's birthday was a lot of fun!  We baked him a birthday cake and he kindly shared it with his siblings. :)
Hope everyone is having a Fabulous Friday!

My well behaved babies :)
