Gray Heron

On our Sunday drive I spotted a Gray Heron.  He was sitting all alone on a small pond probably looking for a snack.  My son pulled the car onto the side of the road so I could get a closer look.  I had to take the photos through a chain link fence, but a few came out nicely.  He's absolutely gorgeous.  It almost looks as though he may have a small injury on his wing.  What do you think?

Do you see the pink spot on his wing?  I hope it's not a serious injury.

Me peeking through the fence at this beautiful bird.

He is a very handsome fellow. I see the pink spot, maybe it's nothing serious.

I take a lot of photos through chain link fences too at the aviary. Your photos turned our great.

You got a wonderful shot! He's a great blue heron and don't worry he's not injured. They all have that little funny pink looking area on their wings.

What gorgeous pictures you got, especially with the pretty green water! He looks a lot like the great blue herons I see around here.
