HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

Hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween!  What's everyone doing fun tonight?

I think they're singing the Monster Mash. :)

I'm scared! lol

Do you see Mickey Mouse on the door?

I had to post this pic.  I thought it was funny that there's a Christmas wreath with the Halloween decor.

Fall In Florida

After seeing MadSnapper's, aka grandmother to my plants, post today it motivated me to post my Fall photos. :)

Took this while visiting Cypress Grove Park...where hubby and I were married!

This is a tree in our neighborhood.

Gray Heron

On our Sunday drive I spotted a Gray Heron.  He was sitting all alone on a small pond probably looking for a snack.  My son pulled the car onto the side of the road so I could get a closer look.  I had to take the photos through a chain link fence, but a few came out nicely.  He's absolutely gorgeous.  It almost looks as though he may have a small injury on his wing.  What do you think?

Do you see the pink spot on his wing?  I hope it's not a serious injury.

Me peeking through the fence at this beautiful bird.

From My Son's Heart

My son made this for me when he was 7 yrs old and in the second grade.  With Thanksgiving approaching I thought this would be a good time to share with my friends. :)

I am thankful for alot of things.
I am mostly thankful for life.
I'm also thankful for my parents, my pets, and other family.
I'm also thankful for not being poor or homeless.
That's what I'm thankful for.

Must Be A Tasty Fruit

This squirrel seemed to truly be enjoying the fruit.  I believe this is a common vine in Florida and is referred to as Bitter Melon or Balsam Apple.

A Happy Ending

On Wednesday afternoon I spoke with Animal Services.   Our beautiful female Rottweiler was picked up by her owners.  She is now home!

Our fur babies were waiting to find out whether they would be getting a new sister.
When we explained why they wouldn't be they were disappointed.  Once I mentioned that it leaves more treats for them their tails were wagging again! :)
A happy ending.

Beautiful Rottweiler Rescued

On the way home today my son and I noticed a Rottweiler
walking by herself.  She was headed for a road that leads out to a main road.  We spoke with an elderly woman that looked interested in the dog and it wasn't hers, but she was trying to retrieve it to check for tags.  She told us there was another dog and she would go look for him while we try to help this doggy.  We caught up to the doggy and my son managed to get her to turn around.  About 15 minutes later Kyle (my son) had befriended the dog and she was sitting for him. :)  She didn't have any tags, so we got her in the car  and started knocking on doors.  I waved down a police officer and asked him if he knew anything about two missing dogs.  Sure enough he was looking for them.  A women had called and complained about two dogs bothering her while she was jogging.  We showed him the Rottweiler and he asked us to drive down the street to where he already had animal control waiting.  The police officer told the lady that he believes the dogs were just trying to play around with her.  She didn't have any scratches or anything.  He explained to her if those dogs had wanted to hurt her they would have.  The officer and the animal control guy were impressed with the Rottweiler.  She was just hanging out while we were all talking.  We were given an ID# so we can track her online.  And the animal control guy posted papers with info throughout the neighborhood.  We're hoping her owners will get her back home soon.  All of this on the way home from getting bread and eggs.  We can never pass up an animal in need. :)

Isn't she a beauty?  Pic was taken with my son's camera phone.
The leash is from animal control.

My son was ready to bring her home. :)
The nice animal control guy scanned her for a chip and there was none.

Friendship

Friends are God's way of taking care of us.

A real friend is one who walks in when
the rest of the world walks out.

Seeds From Madsnapper Are Growing

Sandra, aka MadSnapper, had sent me seeds for Poinciana and Powder Puff flowers.  I planted the seeds September 16.  I shared the first sprouts with you all on September 23.  That means it's been 22 days since I have shared their progress...too long!  They are doing very well and here's a few pics of Sandra's grandchildren in Orlando. LOL!

This is the Poincana, maybe time to transplant??

This is the Powder Puff, a little slower growing than the Poinciana

This little guy was close by and I couldn't resist sharing him with you.
This is the first time I've seen a lizard shed his skin.

Two Sweet Surprises

My first sweet surprise was in the mail today.  I received two pretty flowers from Sandie, aka Chatty Crone, and one is a ring...so pretty and fun!  Sandie had a six day giveaway and on the last day she decided everyone was a winner!  So, Sandie decided to mail out a gift to everyone...wow what a big heart she has!  Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness Sandie!
My second sweet surprise was when I heard the chirping of
my cardinal family...they came back.  I was starting to get a little worried about them.  They're so pretty to listen to and to look at.

Love my bling!

She's so pretty.

He's handsome and he knows it.

The Night Sky

My son is now allowed to drive at night.  We've gone out for ice cream the past two nights.  Tonight we saw some lightning in the sky...we pulled off the road and I started snapping!  I've got so much to learn about photography!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Pregnant and Hungry

We've got a pregnant and hungry squirrel knocking on our door everyday. LOL!  This squirrel is showing up near our front door everyday just begging for peanuts.
She's a chunky monkey (I'm a chunky monkey because I can't quit choolate chip cookies!) and a little off balance so I'm pretty sure she's knocked up. hee! hee!  She's a cutie and she was very good to my camera Sunday.

Hurry and take my pic, I'm so hungry!

Still eating...

a little more...

Really shouldn't let a nut go to waste!

This will be the last one.

Is there more???

Let's Get Froggy

Tonight, after the rain, hubby went out back with the doggies and there was Froggy.  I had taken pics of Froggy while he was up in my umbrella, but could never capture his face.  Tonight Froggy wasn't shy...I was able to get up close and personal...so cute!  Hope you enjoy!

Not shy tonight!

Big Smile for the camera!

Froggy jumped from our chair to the umbrella...sooo happy he didn't land on me!

Froggy was a social butterfly tonight :)
