Ruffled Misses Grackle

Looks like Misses Grackle let something get her feathers all ruffled up.  Eventually she calmed down.  Do you ever have days like this?  I know I do.  My feathers do get  ruffled from time to time, but it doesn't usually take too long before I'm back to my sweet self. :)
Thank you TexWisGirl for helping me learn my birds!
I love my blogging buddies!

Earth Day 2012

Happy Earth Day...

In Tune With Mother Nature
If you listen for the songbirds
As they greet the summer sun,
And love the way the wind can make
The trees sing just for fun;
If you like to hear the ocean
As it drums upon the shore,
And imagine all the whales out there,
And hope they'll sing some more;
If you think of all the animals
As players in a band,
Each with a lovely tune to play,
All needed on the land;
And know that as a boy or girl
A woman or a man
You have a vital role to play
In Mother Nature's plan;
If you honor every living thing
As a part of nature's treasure
You're in tune with Mother Nature
So let's all sing her song together.

She's Got The Moves

This is our Mama Squirrel.  I wonder how many cups of coffee I need to drink in the morning to be able to move like that?!?!  Hope everyone has a terrific Monday!

She makes it look so easy!

Who's That Napping In My Tree?

We seem to get a lot of wildlife visiting us considering we live in the city.  We don't mind one bit since we're animal lovers.  Monday we spotted a furry animal wearing a mask napping in our Oak tree.  Even Mama Squirrel was trying to figure out what was in her tree.  It turned out to be a very cute and sleepy Raccoon!  Don't worry he didn't show any signs of being rabid.  He just kept rolling around trying to get more comfy.
Around 10:00 pm he woke up, walked around the tree a bit and looked down at us and then off he went through the trees.  I couldn't stop at a couple of pics.  He was just too cute!  If only he knew how to relax. LOL!

He was high in the tree.

He's totally hanging loose!  This just makes me laugh!

There's a BIG yawn.

On the move perhaps for a more comfy branch?

He's out again!

There's Mama Squirrel in the bottom right corner trying
to figure out what is in her tree.

He spotted me!

He looked down at hubby and I and then off he went. :)

My Happy Birthday

Yesterday, April 5th, was my 43rd birthday and I couldn't have asked for a better day!  I had my uncle and aunt from GA here with their two grandkids along with my family that live here in Orlando.  We had a big dinner, delicious cake and best of all a lot of laughing!  Hubby made me a confetti cake with pink frosting and my son cut and served it, making sure I got the first piece...how sweet he can be. :)
I was born the night before Easter in 1969.  My mom told me that when she and I were able to leave the hospital, which was about two weeks later due to complications, there were so many flowers blooming everywhere.
Hope everyone is planning a wonderful Easter weekend!

A few of my favorite cards.
The top left card is from my son and the squirrel sings when you pull him out...LOVE it!
The beautiful wife card is from hubby....gave me tears.
The last one is from Sandie at Chatty Crone...how sweet is she! Thank you Sandie!

I LOVE tulips!  And this little bird bath is going to be a new feeder for my birdies and squirrels.
Coach came out with a new perfume just for summer and this is it.  It smells so clean, fresh and pretty!

Lunch Anyone?

This beautiful Cardinal was doing a little hunting.  I'm not quite sure what he caught.  Hubby was taking these pics from our kitchen window.  I'm wondering if he's taking it to his mate.  If so, that would mean she's sitting in a nest somewhere and there may be baby Cardinals soon.  I'll be keeping a watch out. :)
