Short Sweet Snow in January 2017

Last weekend we were expecting 6" to 10" of snow in Cary/Raleigh, NC which would've been nice, instead we got little snow and too much rain..ice.  We still enjoyed our three whole inches. lol  We put extra food out for the critters and the pups really enjoyed it, it seems to energize them!  As for us, it was so pretty to see.  I don't think I would be happy having snow for more than a week.  I guess it's because at heart I'm a Florida girl. :)

I'm curious, are you living in the state you truly desire or does your heart desire somewhere different? If so, where?

here's our pups with their boy Kyle.
make sure to turn up the volume so you can hear Kyle laughing and Rambo barking. :)

What a fun video, they are playing chase! We do not live so far apart, I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Richmond. I adore living here, and love experiencing all four seasons! It is all the beauty God has to offer!

Such a cute video!!! Glad you didn't quite get all the snow predicted, but ice is never fun. I rather take 12 inches of snow over a minimally icy road.

That's a good question about living in the state you desire, etc. I am living in a state and city I would never have desired (Phoenix, Arizona) but I love living here because it is close to the desire of my heart (family and grandchild).

Well---you got more snow than we did. We only got a little less than ONE inch here.. BUT--luckily, we didn't get any ICE.... It was extremely cold for about 3 days --but now, it feels like Spring... Crazy January.

I great up in southern Virginia and went to college in TN...... In my first marriage, I lived in FL, Louisiana, and Texas... Out of those three I'd choose FL --but really LOVE living where I do since I LOVE all four seasons.. I love winter and SNOW --and despise the HEAT and HUMIDITY of Summer....

I love watching dogs when it snows.

Hugs,
Betsy

I'm originally from Massachusetts but as far as I can remember I always wanted to live on the west coast. I moved to California when I was 24 which I liked and lived in for 10 years but there were no seasons and I prefer rain. So I moved to Washington State and LOVED it. It will always be home. I moved back to MA in 2011 to be w/ my now husband. Not a day goes by I don't yearn to be back in WA. I absolutely HATE this climate. I scoff at the 'mountains' which are just bumps to me. I loved the earlier football start times out there. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Of course I live in Texas now as you know...but have lived in AZ, CO, and NE---snow is something I don't care for at my age. I'd much rather have rain [no flooding] than snow and ice. If I were to live somewhere else in my dreams, I would choose TX still, but a more remote area close to where I am, but no neighbors for miles. LOL

Loved the cute puppy video....so playful and fun.

Hi Marie, that was a fun video to see Kyle running with the dogs. Brought a smile to my face, thank you :) As a transplant from the UK I am very happy to be living in Virginia, where we have been off and on over 40 years in various places. I have also lived in Rhode Island, northern and southern California and back and forth in this state. It took me a while but I truly consider this home now. I enjoy all seasons, love the Spring and Fall best, don't really mind Winter either but can't tolerate the humidity in the height of summer. I love air-conditioning at those times :) Thank you for your sweet comments on my blog. They were very much appreciated. Happy New Year :)

Love the video of happy Kyle and pups. I would like to visit somewhere warmer for the winter months but I wouldn't trade NE in the summer for anything. Hugs, LJ
