Happy 2017!

Happy new year!  Hope everyone enjoyed their first day of 2017.  We stayed home to bring in the new year with lots of food, cards & board games and it was so much fun.  We even had fireworks close by. :)
Did you stay in or go to a celebration or do you have any new year's eve traditions that you follow?

Happy 2017!  Hope the year brings you much happiness and joy!

This is a happy 2016 memory to share with you. :)
This is a precious young bird that flew into our sliding glass door.
My son immediately went to help it.  He held it for a few minutes until it was ready to fly again.

We think it's a part of the Warbler family.

How sweet with the bird and your son!! Sounded like you had a nice New Year's Eve. We did similar. Made a nice meal, watched a movie, and played cards until it was time for midnight. Lots of fireworks around here too.

Happy New Year!

So this little bird had it's very own miracle! He looks rather unharmed. We have birds fly into our large window all the time! Some make it and some don't. Happy New Year!

My New Years Eve tradition is to lounge on the couch in my pajamas until I head to bed early. I can't even recall the last time I was awake to ring in the new year.
We occasionally get birds who run in to our sliding glass doors. Like Ginny said, some make it and some don't

happy news the warbler survived. so cute. The Hawk was sitting on our fence today, looking for food. there is none left but lizards, I got a couple of photos but it was pretty dark when I took them. still in the camera

Sweet little birdie!!!! Happy New Year to you too! We stayed in, had pizza delivered, watched tv. In bed by 11. Very low key.

Ohhh I'm so glad your son was able to hold the little yellowrumped warbler
until it was no longer stunned. Often if the stay on the ground they are seen by predators!
Happy New Year
Hugs madi and mom

What a cute little bird! I'm happy he was able to get his bearings back and fly away. We visited a little on New Year's but didn't stay until midnight. We don't like to be out on the highways that time of night...too many amateurs driving, lol!
Happy New Year to your and your family!

Wishing you a healthy, happy and wonderful new year. Love this little birdie and glad it was only stunned. I had one fly into a window a few months back but he didn't come back. So sad when they do that. Hugs, LJ

PS....we have had this happy a few times, and someone told me to get a window decal to put on the door....it allows the birds to identify it's glass and not open air. It works!!!

Cute little birdie.. Your son is so nice to hold the bird until he could fly again... We have that happen here on occasion... Sad--but usually they will be okay, after getting their 'bearings' back.

Happy 2017 to you and the family. Bet you had some snow recently.. We only had about one inch --but it was DANG COLD for several days.

Hugs,
Betsy

Marie, I am enjoying going back thru your posts. Just yesterday, I posted about a shop we visited that has decals especially to prevent birds from flying into windows. You can view them on my Wed. post and they are also available thru amazon. Many folks say that the decals help! Yay!
