My other children...my 3 doggies.

As I mentioned in my profile, I really like animals and especially doggies.  That may explain why I have three dogs.   Roxanne Love is a six year old Yellow Lab, she was my gift to my son for his birthday and she's the boss.  Then there's Rambo, he's part Black Lab and German Shepherd and he's a big baby unless you're trying to hurt me then he's a 95 lb. bear. LOL!  Rambo showed up at my mother's front door on Mother's Day when he was just a pup and we've had him ever since.  He's now three years old.  Last but not least, there's Rocket.  I found Rocket at the Orange County Animal Shelter.  My best friend and I had been shopping at the outlet malls and on the way home I talked her into to going to the shelter with me.  That's when I spotted Rocket, he was hanging his head low and rolling his big eyes up at me as if he didn't deserve any attention.  I stopped one of the workers there and inquired about this six month old pup.  The date on his kennel card had passed and the guy told me that someone had started to adopt him, but had left abruptly and never returned.  That's why he was still at the kennel.  We took Rocket outside to play with him and get to know him.  Let me tell you something, this dog he is fast!  He's playful and very social, just wanted to play with every dog he saw.  I filled out adoption papers and picked him up with my son a few days later just around December 1, 2010.  I couldn't resist this fast little Dingo looking dog.

The shelter called Rocket a Lab and Pit Bull mix,  but I don't see any of that in him.  He looks like a Boxer, Jack Russel and Dingo mix to me. LOL!  Whatever he is, he's doing a great job of keeping Roxanne and Rambo from being lazy.  Rocket likes to play all the time!  He's so much like a 42 lb. toddler, you just don't know what he'll get into next.  As I'm writing this blog, Rocket is running around my other babies and biting their legs in hopes that they will chase him!

Earlier I was wondering if there would be a full moon tonight, because my babies have lost their minds today!  While I was vacuuming Rocket went and grabbed Roxanne's bed and was dragging it to the center of the family room.  He was then trying to shake it in his mouth like a rag doll.   This bed is big enough for three Rockets to sleep in, if you can picture that.  Once I started yelling at him, then came Rambo!  Rocket and Rambo were then playing tug a war with Roxanne's bed.  Roxanne then decides she wants her bed, but it was too late because Rambo was already taking Rocket on a tour of the house and no matter how rough the ride, Rocket would not let go of that bed.  I really wished I had gotten the video camera out, just priceless moments.

After a short cat nap, Rocket was ready to play.  Roxanne and Rambo were still napping when Rocket decided he really wanted to play racetrack.  That's when Rocket runs around the coffee table and jumps from couch to couch and keeps circling the other doggies until their about dizzy.  I really think it's time to invest in a nanny cam to see what really goes on while I'm out. ;)

I love your doggies. thanks for writing on my post of Jake eating grass. I laughed out loud when I saw the name Rocket. we call Jake rocket man sometimes, one of his nicknames. any time it is dark and my husband gets in the pool, rocket man races around and around the pool. we don't know why, maybe he wants to protect hubby, he races like a rocket around the yard.

I forgot to say, Jake is just like Rocket, he torments 10 year old Baby Girl and does the same thing your rocket does, bites her legs to make her run. your description of Rocket is very much like our Jake

Rocket man, I like that. I bet our doggies would have a great time together. That running around the pool that Jake does sound hilarious! I wonder if it being night time has anything to do with it. I know if I'm somewhere that my doggies can see me, but not get to me, they start crying...they're big babies:). Hope you have a great weekend and please come back and join my blog.
