Downtown Raleigh

More photos from our visit to downtown Raleigh.  There are lots of beautiful Oaks, that's why Raleigh is referred to as the City of Oaks...remember the large acorn!
Next time I would like to photograph the Governor's mansion, which is located downtown.  All my pics are always editing free, so bare with me, there is some glare, etc..

Today's highs are 101 degrees in Raleigh and 100 here in Cary!  What temps are you experiencing??

The Cree Shimmer Wall (pictured above): A reflective LED tree mural displayed on the side of the Raleigh Convention Center. The wall depicts an image of an oak tree and has become a symbol for Raleigh, the City of Oaks. The piece is made up of 79,464 light and dark aluminum squares that change shape and disappear as the squares flap in the wind. When the Barenaked Ladies played the Red Hat Amphitheater, they did a rap about the nearby Shimmer Wall.

beautiful tree lined streets

whilendriving past a kids museum and this window caught my attention.
can you see the stairs insice?  pretty cool!
this would be a fun place to visit when my cousin brings his twin four yr old boys to see us. :)

I can't resist a puppy dog!
UPS seems to be everywhere!  I've had them in other pics. lol

same pup, different window..

apartments over businesses which seems to be quite popular.
this was very popular in Orlando.
I don't think I would like living downtown.

Cecilia aka Madi & Mom remembers shopping here when she was a young girl. :)

I had seem the owner of the business on the news and so when I saw her store
I had to take a picture.  I like the name,

pretty plants, I would like to have some of them.

What a lovely city! It's about 70 here in Massachusetts, but kinda humid. Not as humid as you guys get in the south though.

It's been warm here but not anywhere near the temps you're getting. That looks like a really nice city.

Looks like a lovely place to visit. We aren't quite that hot today, thanks to Bill. Love those plants, too- wonder how they water them way up in the air? LOL!

It's 81 here, humid and occasionally stormy. Hope you get a break from the heat soon, but having said that: Raleigh is still as beautiful as I remember it!

Thx for the pretty view of Raleigh. It has been near 100 the past 2 days. I dread July and August! That is the cutest doggie in the car window!

Looks more interesting that some "Downtowns". Love the puppy with the dark background bokeh! Can't believe you are hotter than we are, but we're rainy and overcast from "Bill".

Love that first pic ! It looks like a real shadow! :) This was a fun tour.
That's too hot...we are thankfully having a cool-off this morning after storms...great weather to mow the grass later when the sogginess dries up a bit.

Some beautiful pictures, thank you for the tour. It's starting to warm up some here in Ireland, still have the chilly winds but it gets somewhat warm in between. It has not yet reached over 20c degrees but hopefully we'll get there soon

Well done...I like that dog!

There's 25 degrees Celsius and no rain at all...another dry year! That is terrible to farmers and for us all....

Nice to be back

Love the pics but you would not find me living over the stores in the city. No no no..... I couldn't deal with the heat or the noise. We haven't had really hot temps yet and it has been great to work outside. Lots of heavy rain yesterday and more coming our way. Grateful, we needed it and no thunder storms to scare my pooch.
