I'm so happy to see these Doves in my backyard! We've had so many hawks around and the doves seem to be an easy target. Anyway, I've had about four regulars eating and hanging around. They're so pretty and soft looking. :)

They are sweet. I don't know how they manage to escape from anything, they are much slower than other birds.
these are great photos of the sweet little dumb bunnies. that is what we call doves. they are so sweet and i can listen to them coo all day long, but they are dumb. or maybe just to trusting. no fear. they will sit in the yard and let Jake almost catch them while i am yelling and they just sit there. i never get a photo because i yell to scare them off. the hawks have about decimated them around here. we have 4 families of hawks and 2 eagles... dove are fair game
So pretty, Marie... We have them here --but I've read that Doves aren't that smart --and that's why they become easy targets for hawks... Luckily, we don't have many hawks around....

Your photos of these two are beautiful Marie. We have them all around too but they rarely land in the yard. Usually I see them on the utility wires or in the trees. I'm sure it's my cats that keeps them away. Maybe they aren't so dumb after all.

I do have doves, when the squirrels don't chase them away... which is exactly why I posted squirrels instead. LOL!

Okay this is the thing - I love the doves - and I never ever thought about Hawks eating them. That is so sad. :(
