Mama Mallard's eggs started hatching Monday afternoon on April Fools Day. But, she wasn't fooling us, it was the real deal! And around 7 a.m. this Tuesday morning I had the pleasure of escorting Mama to the lake with her 7 precious ducklings. I was really hoping they would hatch this Friday, on my birthday. This was close enough. :)
This is our second year having Mama nest in our yard. Last year she waddled her babies to the lake on Memorial Day.
Needless to say my day started off great!
All these photos were taken as the sun was rising so, the lighting is a bit tricky.
But, I think you can feel the sweetness. :)

She was doing a lot of talking! A proud Mama for sure. :) |

OH My... Aren't they just precious? Love seeing the babies this time of year. We have a duck family whose babies follow after them all in a line like that... LOVE IT.....
Congrats to the Mallards.
Hugs,
Betsy
Awwww! I love the one where they are all in a line. It is still early, I hope no more bad weather faces them...
Lucky you, how precious!
How cute ^_^ and it's so cute when they swim in one line after their mother.
Enjoy your day!

Oh my goodness, they are all adorable. What a wonderful way to start your day. Your photos are wonderful Marie and I especially like the one with all the little ones in a row behind mama.
A belated Happy Birthday!
