While Christmas shopping with a friend yesterday I spotted these beauties. Good thing I had remembered my handy Nikon Coolpix. The officers weren't around so I didn't get as close as I wanted.
I didn't find everything I was looking for, so that means I'll be back out in the crowds again soon. Wish me luck...LOL!

I think horses are so pretty. I wanted to walk up and visit with them, but out of respect I thought it would be best not to. It's nice to see police officers still ride horses around the city. |
Such beauty... |
I wonder what they think about. |
I just wanted to hug that handsome face. |
They're still saddled up. I think the officers may be having some lunch close by. |

My family and I go to Orlando atleast twice a month... it's only an hour and a half away, and my sister lives there with her hubby and munchkins- Anyways, (I'm rambling) we haven't been lucky enough to see officers on horses during any of our visits there. I'll be sure to keep an eye out now :)
i think they are wonderful in crowds. most folks won't think twice about going up against a horse. :)
good luck finishing the shopping!
They are beautiful creatures. I've always loved horses. My uncle had several when I was growing up and it was always a treat to get to ride one
What beautiful horses indeed! I never tire of looking at these gorgeous animals. I would have probably tried to rub those velvet muzzles if I thought I wouldn't get in trouble! Merry Christmas Marie!
I suppose petting isn't allowed while they are on duty!
They are beautiful creatures. You got some good shots Marie, I probably wouldn't have gotten any closer either. The policemen were likely keeping an eye on them from the restaurant window.
I finished my shopping today (I think) so now it's time to relax for a bit.
you did really great with the photos, me to on the staying away from them, just in case. we have mounted police but only during the holidays, the sheriff has a posse patrol, and they use them to patrol our mall because it is so dangerous at Christmas. I have not seen them because i don't go to the mall, but have seen them in the news. i know they use horses in a lot of the big cities, they can get around stopped traffic. but i hate to think of the horses on pavement. my friends daughter rides with the posse, and 3 years ago she was chasing a shoplifter through the mall and her horse fell and it broke her leg, the girl not the horse, not a lot of traction. so because of this i am against having horses at crowded malls. i love horses and these are beautiful.
Ya just can't find a woman any braver than a blogger with her camera! Heeehehehe!
Great shots and the horses are most beautiful.
God bless and have a bright and beautiful Christmas sweetie!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS YA'LL!!! :O)
Perhaps those beautiful horses were in a Christmas parade! :)

My vote is to go back and see the horses. Skip the shopping. How does that sound? Grim? I hope not, just so much going on, and why can't a person go to a police trailer because they love the horses?! Go girl.

Those horses were pretty - bet the police department have really nice horses and it's not to hot for them right now. I've never seen anything like this. sandie
