Hold Your Horses, There's More!

That's what I said to hubby when he was turning us around to leave and I spotted two more horses, this makes six!  They were way in the back and I could't see them before from where we were parked.  I'm so glad they're close by our home so I can ride by and admire their beauty and who knows, maybe I'll see a new face. :)

They're never lonely. :)

There's the Fourth Beauty

When I was a teenager I had a few friends with horses.  It didn't seem to matter how many times I fell off a horse, I always got back on.  lol  The worse fall I had was when I was riding bareback and following my friend, Billie Jo.  Now, Billie Jo owned horses and would compete, I did not.  On this day my parents had told me not to go riding, just take a break from it.  But why???
So, after I get to Billie Jo's house we jump on the horses and go for a ride.  She and her horse took off down the dirt road, made a right turn and jumped a ditch.  My horse and I followed, making the same turn, jumping the same ditch, but then I fell off the left side...not good!  Off to the ER!  I had pulled ligaments in my arm.  Lots of pain and lots of physical therapy!  To this day I still wake up, from time to time, with my arm feeling like a tight rubber band and I have to work it out slowly.  I sure wish I had taken that day off from riding. :)
Do you have any similar regrets?

here's  the fourth beauty...so loving...

he or she was picking up some speed here, so gorgeous!

doesn't the beauty in the back look like a ghost horse??

so beautiful...so peaceful.

Now There's Three

I shared photos of two beautiful horses and now I have a third beauty for you.  I took these from our vehicle.  I didn't walk over to the fence because I didn't want to interrupt or be disrespectful of the horses/people's home.  The road you see there is the owners driveway.
I will have more later this week! :)

Two beauties I shared before

I spotted this pretty horse that just kept swaying
and taking one step.

He/she heard me talking.  lol

Watch the tail!

the tail was putting on a show!
what is that tail saying?!

They must have some good ears
because as you can see I was quite far away.

Horses

These gorgeous animals live less than three miles from our home.  I do love that this area is a mix of beautiful city and country living.
I have more pics, but for now I'll start with these beauties.

A Spring Stampede

As we were turning the car around to find a place to park we noticed a little stampede had started.  I had to hurry and start snapping!  I did the best I could considering there are a lot of trees and these horses, cows and calf were cruising!  I couldn't believe that little calf was running with the horses!  Mama cow was trying to catch up with her baby!  We had a blast watching these beautiful animals.

Do you see the calf?  Mama cow is trying to catch up! LOL

They started slowing down.

This is Mama cow and after the stampede she went a trotting over to these horses and she had a lot to say.
We could hear her from across the road!  She wasn't too happy.
I think she was giving them grief for almost running over her baby.

Spring Surprise

Less than three miles from our home in the city we found these beautiful animals.  I was so excited!  This pasture had been empty for so long, but not anymore. :)  It wasn't easy to park on the side of the road to take these pics, but we managed the best that we could.

I followed MadSnapper's advice to sit, stare and snap!  I did a lot of snapping, so you will be seeing a lot of horse and cow posts.
Happy Spring Blogland!

Beautiful Surprise While Christmas Shopping.

While Christmas shopping with a friend yesterday I spotted these beauties.  Good thing I had remembered my handy Nikon Coolpix.  The officers weren't around so I didn't get as close as I wanted.
I didn't find everything I was looking for, so that means I'll be back out in the crowds again soon. Wish me luck...LOL!

I think horses are so pretty.  I wanted to walk up and visit with them, but out of respect I thought it would be best not to.
It's nice to see police officers still ride horses around the city.

Such beauty...

I wonder what they think about.

I just wanted to hug that handsome face.

They're still saddled up.  I think the officers may be having some lunch close by.
