A Watchful Mother

I've had many experiences with baby squirrels and their mothers and a few other wildlife animals.  I remember taking care of a baby bird with my dad when I was a young girl.  I've passed the caring and respect of animals on to my son.
One year on July 4th, Kyle was 3 or 4 yrs old, there was a bunny with a broken leg, we scooped her up and Kyle held her all the way to the wildlife center.  He named it Firecracker.  Well, turns out it was a she and she was pregnant.  Her leg healed and her babies lived. :)  Kyle will never forget holding her and saving her.
Hope you enjoy this short video. :)

Mama Mallard is Back

Depending on how long you've known me, you may or may not remember our Mama Mallard.  Mama Mallard made her nest in our front yard last year.  What a fun experience it was!  We escorted this proud Mama and her three ducklings down to the lake on Memorial Day where they started their adventure. :)

Well, Mama is back!  Seeing that we gave her a bath tub, food and even sprayed her with the water hose, oh how she loved that, it's no surprise that she has returned to the same nest. :)  And we're happy to see her!

Happy Friday everyone!  I will be picking up my mom and grabbing coffee and doing a little shopping.  Hopefully I'll find a treasure at the thrift store.

I'm pretty and I know it!  lol

Mama is wondering why her tub is so small...
I do need to get her a larger tub. LOL  This is smaller than the one she had last year.

I know I haven't put on this much weight!  This can't be my tub!

Making time to Blog

I'm still here and determined to figure this blogging stuff out. ha ha!  This has been a very hectic time.  It's the last week before my son starts school and we're not finished with our "to do" list yet.  He still needs his haircut and a few more school items....like a $100 calculator for geometry...wow!  High school is getting expensive, maybe they're preparing us for college expenses, lol!  Maybe this weekend will be more relaxing.  I don't know how my grandmother managed with eight kids!  God Bless you mothers out there with 3,4 or more children.

I probably should let my son help me with my blog because I'm sure he knows more about the internet than I do.  I wish I were a natural on here, but I'm not.  Today I've taken some time to look at a few other blogs and I'm real impressed with people's creativity.  And I've learned that there are constantly new bloggers.  So, let's help each other out!  If you drop by on my blog, please say hello and I'll stop by your blog and say hello.  Got to go for now, everyone have a great day!

No matter what your situation, you're not alone.

Back in 2000, I was beginning my divorce from an abusive husband.  I felt so alone with only my young son.  Even though I knew there were thousands of women that are abused by their partners, I didn't know any of them.  I was so ashamed of my situation that I didn't tell anyone.  I felt like I had done something wrong.  How could I have loved someone that was so cruel?
Well, here I am and life is wonderful!  I no longer am married to an abusive man and I keep myself surrounded by kind and positive people, no time for mean or shallow people.

This is my first blog and I would really like for women and men to come together and share whatever is going on in their lives.  Whether it's good or bad, let's share with one another and help and support whenever possible.  Making a real difference in someone's life, a dog's life, a stranger's life is from your heart and all it takes is you sharing your time.

Let's talk life!
